Anxiety
Anxiety is first and foremost an emotion and feeling. It is a natural response of the body and brain to stress, uncertainty, or imbalance. It is not one single condition, but rather a symptom that may arise from many different roots: neurotransmitter imbalances, blood sugar instability, gut dysbiosis, hormone fluctuations, or chronic stress.
In my protocols, I take a whole-person approach. Blood, stool, hormone, and Nutrigenomic testing help identify where anxiety may be fuelled biologically. In my clinical experience, it is a combination of nutrient depletion, gut-brain disruption, and insulin dysregulation. I also coach my clients with strategies to calm anxious thoughts and reconnect with their bodies, so they can build resilience both biochemically and emotionally.
The ketogenic diet is one of my core tools, because ketones naturally calm the brain by reducing glutamate activity and increasing GABA, the neurotransmitter of relaxation. Paired with nervous system support, nutrient repletion (like magnesium, B6, zinc, and Omega-3)and mind-body practices, this creates a holistic strategy to help clients not just suppress anxiety, but truly transform their relationship with it.
